Abstract

Sepsis is a medical emergency requiring a rapid and coordinated response to reduce morbidity and mortality. Collaborative Decision-Making (CDM) within an interprofessional team is an effective approach to managing emergency sepsis cases in primary care. This study aims to explore the role of CDM in improving the effectiveness of diagnosis, early treatment, and patient referral coordination. This research method uses a literature review approach by analyzing various recent journals discussing CDM in sepsis management in primary care. Data were collected from publications in the past five years evaluating the impact of CDM on response time efficiency, use of evidence-based therapies, and successful patient management. The study results show that CDM enhances diagnostic accuracy, accelerates early intervention, and improves communication pathways within the interprofessional team. CDM implementation has also been proven to reduce mortality and the duration of care for patients with sepsis through faster and evidence-based decision making. In conclusion, implementing CDM in interprofessional teams in primary care is crucial in improving sepsis patient outcomes
