Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major public health challenge in Indonesia. Treatment success is influenced by several factors, including patients' knowledge, the role of Treatment Supervisors (TS), medication adherence, and quality of life. Objective: To analyze the relationship between patients' knowledge and the role of Treatment Supervisors (TS) with medication adherence, as well as the relationship between medication adherence and the quality of life of TB patients at Binong Primary Health Center, Tangerang Regency. Methods: This quantitative study employed a cross-sectional design involving 120 respondents selected using total sampling. Data were collected using knowledge, Treatment Supervisor (TS), MMAS-8, and WHOQOL-BREF questionnaires and analyzed using the Chi-square test. Results: Most respondents had good knowledge (71.7%), supportive Treatment Supervisor (TS) roles (98.3%), moderate medication adherence (55.0%), and good quality of life (90.0%). Significant associations were found between knowledge and medication adherence (p=0.000), the role of Treatment Supervisors and medication adherence (p=0.043), and medication adherence and quality of life (p=0.029). Conclusion: Patients' knowledge and the role of Treatment Supervisors were significantly associated with medication adherence, while medication adherence was significantly associated with the quality of life of TB patients at Binong Primary Health Center, Tangerang Regency.
