Background: Many nutritional problems in Indonesia, especially in developing countries, are malnutrition such as underweight, stunting, wasting and micronutrient deficiencies. The results of the Nutrition Status Monitoring (PSG) in 2017, the prevalence of undernutrition in Kendal District was 17.4%. Based on an initial survey in kindergarten in Plantungan sub-district, 6.11% of children were found to be undernourished (W/H index) at the age of 4-5 years. The results of the initial survey also found that there were passive children in several aspects of learning, and found that stimulation and intervention of early detection of growth and development was still 41.6% in its application. Objective: To analyze the relationship between nutritional status (H/W index) and developmental level in 4-5 years old preschool children in Plantungan sub-district, Kendal district. Methods: Observational research design with a cross sectional approach, sampling using proportional sampling, research sample 136 children, digital stepping weight, and height measuring instruments namely microtoice, KPSP (Developmental Pre Screening Questionnaire), and WHO Antro software. Results and Conclusion: The results of the Somers'd statistical test showed that there was no significant relationship with a very weak correlation coefficient between the nutritional status of children (H/W index) and the level of development of preschool children aged 4-5 years, (p value = 0.577, r = 0.042), it is recommended that further research can develop research variables related to factors that can affect the level of child development
