Background: Video-based dietary education may support hypertension management in older adults. Objective: This study compared the effectiveness of video-based Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) and low-salt diet education on knowledge and blood pressure among older adults with hypertension at Kayangan Public Health Center. Methods: A quantitative true experimental study used a pretest-posttest with control group design. Fifty-one participants were divided into control, DASH, and low-salt diet groups, with 17 participants per group. Education was delivered in four sessions over one month. Knowledge was assessed using a questionnaire and blood pressure using a digital sphygmomanometer before and after the intervention. Between-group changes were analyzed using the Kruskal–Wallis test. Results: Median increases in knowledge scores are 7.00, 7.00, and 40.00 in the control, DASH, and low-salt groups, respectively, with a significant between-group difference (p < 0.001). Mean systolic blood pressure reductions are 9.82, 9.59, and 4.82 mmHg, while diastolic reductions are 9.53, 7.41, and 9.24 mmHg, respectively. Between-group differences in systolic (p = 0.558) and diastolic (p = 0.926) changes are not significant. Conclusion: The low-salt diet group shows the largest descriptive improvement in knowledge. Knowledge changes differ significantly between groups, whereas blood pressure changes do not.
