Correction and Retraction

Correction and Retraction Policy

Jurnal Pengmas Kestra (JPK) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of all published articles. The journal follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling corrections, retractions, and other issues identified after publication.

This policy ensures that errors or ethical concerns in published articles are addressed fairly, responsibly, and transparently.

1. Corrections

Corrections may be issued when errors are identified in a published article but do not significantly affect the reliability of its content or main conclusions.

Corrections may include:

  • Errors in author names, affiliations, or publication information.

  • Incorrect data, tables, figures, or descriptions of community service activities.

  • Minor errors in program results or evaluation findings.

  • Other inaccuracies that require clarification.

The editorial team will review the reported errors and determine whether a correction is necessary.

When appropriate, a correction notice will be published and linked to the original article.

2. Retractions

Jurnal Pengmas Kestra (JPK) may retract a published article when serious errors or ethical violations make its content or conclusions unreliable.

Reasons for retraction may include:

  • Fabrication or falsification of community service data or reported activities.

  • Plagiarism or serious copyright violations.

  • Duplicate or redundant publication.

  • Manipulation of the peer-review process.

  • Serious ethical violations involving community participants or partners.

  • Major errors that invalidate the reported outcomes or conclusions.

A retraction notice will be published, clearly explaining the reasons for the retraction.

The original article will remain accessible whenever legally and ethically appropriate and will be clearly marked as "Retracted" to maintain the transparency of the publication record.

3. Expression of Concern

The journal may publish an Expression of Concern when serious questions arise about a published article but the available evidence is insufficient to determine whether a correction or retraction is necessary.

The editorial team may request additional information from the authors or relevant institutions.

Once the investigation is completed, the journal will determine whether further action is required.

4. Reporting and Investigation Procedure

Authors, reviewers, readers, or other interested parties may report errors or suspected publication misconduct to the editorial team of Jurnal Pengmas Kestra (JPK).

Email: ojs@medistra.ac.id

Reports should include the article title, publication details, a description of the issue, and supporting evidence when available.

The editorial team will:

  1. Review the reported issue and available evidence.

  2. Contact the corresponding author for clarification when necessary.

  3. Conduct a fair and confidential assessment.

  4. Determine whether a correction, retraction, expression of concern, or other action is appropriate.

  5. Publish an editorial notice when required.

All decisions will follow the journal's publication ethics policy and relevant COPE guidelines.

5. Transparency and Publication Integrity

Jurnal Pengmas Kestra (JPK) is committed to ensuring that corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern are handled objectively and transparently.

All published notices will clearly identify the affected article, explain the reasons for the editorial action, and be linked to the original publication.

Retractions are intended to correct the scholarly record and protect readers from unreliable information, rather than to punish authors.

The journal encourages authors and readers to report significant errors or ethical concerns to help maintain the quality and credibility of published community service articles.
