Plagiarism Policy
Jurnal Pengmas Kestra (JPK) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and originality in all published articles. The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism and self-plagiarism in manuscripts reporting community service activities.
All submitted manuscripts are screened for similarity using Turnitin before proceeding to the peer-review process.
1. Similarity Screening
The journal applies a maximum similarity threshold of 30%. Manuscripts with similarity scores exceeding this threshold must be revised by the authors before they can proceed to the next editorial stage.
The screening process is conducted by the editorial team, and the similarity report will be provided to the corresponding author along with editorial comments when necessary.
2. Plagiarism Evaluation
The editorial team evaluates similarity reports to identify potential plagiarism, inappropriate citations, excessive text overlap, and duplication of previously published materials.
A similarity score below 30% does not automatically guarantee that a manuscript is free from plagiarism. The editorial team will assess the context and sources of similarity to ensure compliance with publication ethics.
3. Manuscript Revision
Authors may be requested to revise manuscripts that contain excessive similarity or improperly cited materials.
Revisions may include improving citations, paraphrasing appropriately, reducing unnecessary text overlap, and ensuring the originality of the manuscript.
Manuscripts that fail to meet the journal's originality requirements may be rejected.
4. Publication Ethics
Jurnal Pengmas Kestra (JPK) follows the ethical principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling suspected plagiarism and publication misconduct.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submitted manuscripts are original, properly cited, and have not been published or submitted elsewhere in substantially the same form.
